About Us

Glasgow Western Masters is a swimming club for anyone over the age of 18 and is a competent swimmer.  We are associated with the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association (SASA) and all club members are also registered with SASA.

Some of us swim for fitness, some for fun and some for friendship as these are the aims of masters swimming.

There are regular competitions across Scotland and the rest of the UK, Europe and the World should you wish to attend.  We normally have at least a small team attend most with Scotland.  We have a mixed bag of members both male and female and currently ranging in age from 24 right up to the 80s.  And yes, you can still compete and set world records as old as you like!

So, if you fancy coming back to swimming give us a try.  Come along to one of our training sessions and see what you think.  It can be as easy or as hard as you make it.  And don't forget, you can join us in the bar afterwards!.

We also have a good contingent of Open Water swimmers who normally train in Loch Lomond on Sunday Mornings.  Open Water events throughout the year range from the British Gas Great Swims and the Monster in Loch Ness to the Forth & Tay River and even some of the Swim Trek excursions.   We're always on the lookout for other events.
